Resilience

For this piece I chose to use an octopus because of it’s ability to adjust and handle any situation, no matter how challenging or threatening. The octopus tentacles represent life’s complexity and how we can’t always control it in our own lives. The woman represents strength and an unbothered mood, which shows her resilience to anything being thrown her way.

Beauty and the Snake

In this digital painting, created on Procreate/Ipad Pro, I have paired the female figure with a snake, which historically represents fertility or a creative life force. The Snake sheds its skin, the same way we shed different parts of ourselves throughout our lives. This painting symbolizes having the strength to go through that “shedding” process and having a rebirth or transformation.
